Busy September for SCEC...

Final Round of the Rogershill Summer series...

With the summer break nearly over and just a couple of weeks to go before for the final round of this most enjoyable and trend setting series the entries are now starting to flood in. This year the emphasis has been more on cross-country rather than moto-x style races, with the addition of the trademark Rogershill optional ‘extreme’ sections of course (each with it’s own alternative longer but less demanding route).
By popular request the final race will follow in the same pattern (only starting at 3pm on Saturday 5th and running till 5pm) however rather than rush off home riders will be encouraged to stay on and enjoy the early evening with us.

After the race there will be a short break (long enough to load up the van and get cleaned up) before race 2, a 1 hour truly extreme event which will give the normal folk amongst us the opportunity to watch the crazy folk amongst us (including some of the country’s very best riders) tackle the 1 hour Rogershill ‘extreme’ race.
The short course incorporates a fair bit of ridiculous going and could have been designed purely with crazed spectators in mind! (but if you would rather ride it than watch it, no worries - just let us know). The course for this spectacular event is only a short walk from the parking area. It’s hoped the race will provide a highly sociable and enjoyable end to the summer series and a couple of huge barbeques will be available trackside for all to use (bring your own meat and be our guest!).
If you've been to Rogershill recently you can't have missed the diggers and dumpers frantically doing their stuff - Danny and his team have been working hard both to improve the facilities available there and to make the final event of this year’s Rogershill Summer series the best yet – if you’ve not been yet why not come along and see what you’ve been missing!

Results on-line now...

‘Maze in the Maize’ @ Milton Abbas...

Preparations are now well underway for this unique event. The Bramblecombe Farm venue is renowned for it’s combination of superb cross-country going and technical woodland sections and has provided us with some superb racing over the last few years. As the name implies, this year’s event will also feature several miles of ‘maze in the maize’ going which allows us to quite literally carve a course through the maize.
It’s an amazing riding experience, we can utilise the farms plentiful contours to best effect and the course will follow the intended route throughout the entire event (the 2 metre plus high maize stops even the most determined course cutter in his tracks!).

This event is going to be something else - all the pieces are in place to make this one of the best events of the year anywhere - don't miss it!

Entries for both events are on the club website (www.enduro.org.uk/events.html) - just follow the links from the events tab.

Look forward to seeing you out there!

September 13th Ansty 'Maze in the Maize'

Regs are now available for the unique SCEC 'Maze in the Maize' Hare & Hounds event at Ansty in Dorset on the 13th September.

This immensely enjoyable concept was pioneered by SCEC some years ago and as the name suggests large parts of the course are carved out of the 2 metre high maize crop. When added to the superb and varied cross-country terrain available at the Bramblecombe Farm venue the result is stunning!
