2009 SCEC preview…

For around 15 years SCEC have offered members the chance to take part in some of the country’s finest events at some of the country’s finest venues – moving into 2009 we will raise the bar still further. A couple of outstanding new venues, a new sponsor along with a sponsorship agreement that will benefit every rider, and continuing new innovations such as the new timing system with live results display (including the possibility for riders to see their position as they scan) and the amazing new endurotext system that’s sends your results to your mobile within minutes of the race finishing.

For 2009 Membership/Registration will no longer be obligatory, however there will be a higher entry fee for non-registered riders and only registered riders will be eligible for awards & championship points. Priority for places will always be given to registered riders.

The 2009 Championship series will be known as the S.C.O.R.E series. There will be 6 rounds - each round quite different from the others. The series will have a new scoring system. 1st place will get 1 point, second 2, and so on for every finisher. DNFs will be awarded the same number of points as the number of finishers in their class plus 1. Riders registered for the series but not starting a race will be awarded the same points as a DNF plus 10 points. If a rider competes in all 6 rounds his worst finish will be dropped (so 5 of 6 the rounds will count). The winner will be the rider who has the lowest overall point score so rewarding consistency.

There will be 3 rounds to the popular summer evening series. The evening series will use the same scoring system as the S.C.O.R.E series except that all 3 rounds will count.

Both series will feature 9 classes:

• Championship/Pro

• Expert

• Expert Vets/+40

• Ladies

• Clubman (E1/E2 or 2 stroke/4 stroke - see poll on SCEC news page)

• Sportsman

• Sportsman +40

• Novice

With our unrivalled experience, passion and innovation, SCEC continue to offer enthusiastic riders the opportunity to participate in some of the country’s most competitive and exciting events, yet still offers a friendly & supportive atmosphere that embraces beginners and has them coming back and begging for more. Welcome to SCEC 2009… Enjoy the ride!
